Thank You?
So, I had an idea and I'm wondering if you folks over here would be interested in helping (mods, please feel free to tell me to go away if this is out of line :-D).

By now, we all know that SG1 is not coming back for an 11th season, like we had all hoped. And while there will be at least 2 DVD movies, it's still not quite the same. I had this sort of epiphany last week about how much I love this show. Like really love it. And I wondered what I could do to say Thank You to the cast and crew and all the other fans for 10 great years of adventures and for introducing me to a great new community of friends. At first I thought, "Maybe an ad in Variety?" But just a half page in black & white costs almost $5000. So, a friend suggested a local Vancouver paper. They can do a full page, black & white, Saturday and Sunday for $3625.86can. Now, that's still quite a bit of money and we don't even have to do a whole page.

What I'm wondering is, would folks here be willing to do another small fundraiser thing to try and get an ad in that paper? I'm thinking we should do it fairly soon as the second half of season 10 is about to start airing in the US and it should probably go in before that completes airing.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Yea? Nay?

Thanks for reading. :-)

As I already told you it's a great idea, you know you have my support! And Ryan already has an ad idea, he thinks doing a running small text in the background of each person's name who contributes to the ad with a small thank you message and then in bigger darker letters superimposed over the top a larger group thank you message. Does that make sense? I see it in my head, hard to convey down in text....

I think I get what you're saying. I'll see if I can mash something together as an example...
