IMPORTANT - Breaking Campaign News
Now that it's finaly become public, please can you look at the post at Gateworld HERE and the responce from the steerers over at the yahoo group and the campaign web site HERE. I don't know what the responce of the mods on here will be, but I think it's rather important that everyone see this, and as you're not all on the yahoo list then, this seemed the best way to go about it.

It is EXTREEMLY important to the future of the campaign, and though it will upset some people it does mean that there IS a future for SG-1, even beyond the two movies already anounced.

Thanks for posting this, Gwyneth. I would have had no idea about the movie news. I posted my comment on the savesg1 site.

s'Okay, I've been waiting for the news to officially break, and now it has it's a matter of getting word out. Getting people to support the future of SG-1 and realise that though it's not what they originally hoped for, it is a victory, and we need to continue to support it so that it may continue for many, many years.

And... so yea, happy to do it, and just glad to get the word out.

I see this as good news. Not the best news, of course, but still. Even if I don't live in the US I'm going to make sure to buy those DVD movies to keep helping SG1.

I'm glad that you see it as good news, some wont and that's sad. I'm all for saving SG-1, but only if it's the way I want it or I'll run away, and all that. Good to see those who'll still support it say so!

I'm just as happy about the movies as I would have been about season 11... :)

SG-1 lives on! *happy dance*

I'm so proud of everyone... really, although MGM wanted to keep it going in some way, I think we all played a part in this...

*gives standing ovation to the best fans ever*

Y'know, I really wish there were as many people saying they were happy about this on the yahoo list, too many doom and gloomers about this there *sighs*.

But you're happy, so YAY!

And yeah we did. Months and months, since August, of hard work and stress and wariness and hope and... now this news which is brilliant! We achieved what too many fandoms have not, we've got more of our SG-1....

*joins in the ovation*

Why aren't people happy? Bah.. I think it's brilliant...

I know, this comm especially has been amazing, I've been here since day one... or maybe two... but definitely before day three anyway ;)

I'm proud of us... I think this is an amazing fandom, especially the people that I met through SoS...
Nethneth_dugan on December 22nd, 2006 08:39 pm (UTC)
Yeah, some people think that it's just a rumour (it's to do with a source saying that Michael Shanks would be aproached about the third series, and Michael Shanks then saying that he hadn't been... despite the fact that that source had always pulled through before, and this being from a completely different but also entierly acurate source and.... so on). Some are all "Oh, but I only wanted a S11, no S11 and I'll throw a fit and not support it!" and so on so forth...

So, people on here being happy about it is a nice and refreshing suprise, especially after everything.

And yeah, I was on here day one, I think I probably joined the Yahoo group a few days after simply becaue I don't like yahoo groups much, and was made steerer a coule weeks after that. It's been long and exausting, and coupled with stuff going on at home and uni....

*conks off to sleep*

It is, an absolutely brilliant fandom, and some of the people I've met through SoS are great people too. Course, we can't just pack up now, we have to make sure that the movies are succesful so that they'll make a ton of 'em but... we have hit the milestone victory at last.
